There was a 14% drop in the number of foreclosures in California last year which contrasted with a 2% rise nationally. This has led many to believe that California’s housing market is on the road to recovery. It was one of the first states to be hit by the downturn, with prices reaching rock bottom in 2009. Since then prices are gradually increasing although the recovery so far has been patchy.
