We’ve been hearing a lot about Alanya property lately. Well, perhaps not more than any of Turkey’s other hotspots, but a little more than we normally hear about Alanya. And why? Because airport operators TAV successfully opened the nearby Gazipasa airport to the domestic market last year, and have every intention of bringing the first international flights this year into the airport.

Yet… here we are, just over a year later and the overseas property industry is clambering back onto its feet and trying to work out exactly what has changed: is speculation really dead? Is it really only cash-buyers that will buy in 2010? What damage has been done to off-plan buying?
